BUILDING & PRESERVATION
Building and Preservation is the trading name of the Company’s building division which operates from Laurel’s Yard, Knellers Lane, Ashurst.
At any one time the division employs between 10 and 15 staff full time; 7 members have been employed by the Company for more than 20 years. They are a multi-skilled work force capable of undertaking any building work including concreting, brick laying, roofing, plastering and carpentry.

In addition to the maintenance of the let houses and farm buildings on the Estate, the Building Department regularly undertakes new build works for “third parties” which have included The Girl Guides at its Lyndhurst HQ, local Scout Groups, churches, parish councils as well as individual home owners.
In the last 10 years the Barker-Mill Trustees have commissioned the division to build more than 30 new houses on Estate land which the Company then lets and manages for the Trusts.
